Please join us in congratulating our 8th grade students who qualified for the Neumann Scholarship test this fall. We are so very proud of your hard work and accomplishments! Initiated in 1995, this scholarship program identifies academically talented eighth grade students in the parochial school system through an independently administered competitive examination and provides four year scholarships to attend one of seventeen Archdiocesan high schools. -900 eligible eighth grade students, on average, compete for this scholarship, representing 112 parochial grade schools in five counties -35 eighth grade students who excel on the Neumann Scholars exam will be awarded four-year scholarships to the Archdiocesan high school of their choice -120 Neumann Scholars currently attend Archdiocesan high schools.

Holy Trinity School students in 7th Grade held a Medieval Feast as the culminating event of their English Language Arts (ELA) Unit. The students have been learning about the customs and manners of the Middle Ages, what life was like, conducting research, and reading works of literature related to that time period. A job well done by all!

Last week, 8th grade students competed against St. Michaels and Holy Family in the annual Conwell-Egan Catholic High School Rocket Launch competition. Students worked over the last several weeks learning about rockets, designing, and testing their builds. Holy Trinity placed first overall. A special congratulations to Elizabeth N. who won overall first place with a distance of 95 feet! Thank you to Mr. Wurtz at Conwell Egan for taking the time to come to HTS and helping us with this great event!

3rd graders worked together to solve Thanksgiving word problems. They had to use their responses to solve clues to where the key to the locked box was hidden. They had so much fun, and the winners unlocked the treat for the whole class.

Last Friday, in recognition of Vocation Awareness Week, students in Grades 3-8 attended a Vocation Panel, organized through the efforts of Mr. Loeffler from our Advisory Council. Students listened to stories from Fr. David Friel (Director of the Vocation Office for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia), Sister Lesley Draper (Principal of Villa Victoria Academy), Deacon Richard Arcari (a graduate of Holy Trinity School), and Mrs. Karen McMenamin (a parent of three HTS graduates and former Home and School President). Following the talks, there was a Q and A session, and our guests also visited our Kindergarten, First, and Second grade students in their classrooms. We are grateful for our special guests sharing their vocation stories with us!

Our 4th grade class took a trolley tour around historic Philadelphia. They saw the burial ground of Ben Franklin, the Liberty Bell, climbed the steps of the Art Museum, took pictures with Ricky and explored so many historical sites!
