As is tradition at Holy Trinity School, our Third Grade Communion Class and Eighth Grade soon-to-be HTS graduates lead the school's annual May Procession. While church attendance for the event was limited, school students and families participated via livestream.

As part of Religion Class with Mrs. Genevieve Haney, our Fourth Grade students honored Mary by processing to the parish grotto. The students recited the Angelus and sang traditional hymns to the Blessed Mother, as Monsignor Eckert crowned Mary with lovely flowers.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported this year's RACE FOR EDUCATION! Thanks to the hard work of our team lead by Miss Christine Traub, our students' and their families' help with spreading the word about the event, the support of Monsignor Eckert, and the generosity of our many donors - grandparents, aunts and uncles, neighbors, parishioners, community members - this year's Race set a record for the amount of money pledged! Come 2021-2022, be sure to look for the many school improvements made possible by funds raised by the Race for Education!

Congratulations to our two Reading Olympics teams - both BLUE RIBBON WINNERS in this year's virtual event! "The Page Turners" was our Grade 5 and 6 team and "Rapid Readers" was made up of 7th and 8th Grade students. Thank you to their faculty moderators - Mrs. Olivia Haney, Mrs. Janet Horn, Mrs. Jennifer Preston, and Mrs. Susan Smith - for their dedication to working with our teams, keeping the students focused and motivated during the competition preparation process!

Holy Trinity School had a guest principal today! As this year's Catholic Schools Week "Carnival of Prizes" raffle winner, Anthony Houtz (Grade 3) had the honor of being "Principal for a Day!" Principal Houtz accompanied Mr. McCusker on a tour of the school to check in on all classroom operations, made important announcements over the public address system, sat in on meetings with the teachers, and got to order fun supplies for his own classroom. It was an honor having Mr. Houtz lead our school for the day!

Holy Trinity School students and staff recognized United Nations World Down Syndrome Day by "Rocking Their Socks" on Monday, March 22nd. Celebrating the theme "More Alike Than Different," participants wore mismatched or "crazy" socks to show their support.

Happy "Holy Trinity Day" 2021! While not the festive gathering the HTS Community has come to know and love, this very special Holy Trinity tradition was still held this year. While observing all safety protocol, students and staff celebrated the ninth anniversary of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia's decision to keep Holy Trinity School open! The winners of our Junior High Unit (Grades 6-8) COVID-19 Photo Essay Contest were recently named. Entries were judged in the categories of Most Creative Presentation, Most Emotional Essay, Best Essay, and Best Pictures. Our students were asked to depict - in words and images - how the pandemic has affected their lives. Grade 6 Winners: Gracie Glasson, Anabelle Hunnicutt, Henry Payne, Sofia Recchia. While so much has changed for Catholic Schools Week this year, the "Carnival of Prizes" lives on! Our faculty, staff, and Home & School Association once again came through in a BIG way, donating generous prize baskets to be raffled-off to the students. Proceeds from this charitable fundraiser have been earmarked for Britney, our Unbound sponsor child from Ecuador. Due to the shortened week and the continued demand for raffle tickets, the Carnival has been extended into next week with a live Zoom drawing on Wednesday afternoon, February 10th.

Thank you to the Danaher Lynch Family Foundation (DLFF), who provided Holy Trinity with a $5,000 grant for technology equipment. With these funds, we were able to purchase a set of Chromebooks for our 4th Grade class to utilize for their learning. The students' teachers are thrilled with the independence and responsibility the students are demonstrating in using their new devices!
